Gather with us
Starting February 22, 2026
and Every Sunday following at 4:30 pm
224 S. Pearl St. Rocky Mount, NC
Gathering with City of Shalom on Sundays is a welcoming and meaningful experience centered on encountering God together. We gather every Sunday at 4:30pm, joining a rhythm Christians have practiced for nearly 2,000 years. Our service includes passionate worship through singing, the reading of Scripture, thoughtful teaching, prayer, and communion. These practices shape us as a people who are learning to love God and one another more deeply. No matter where you are on your faith journey—or even if you’re not sure what you believe—you are welcome here. At City of Shalom, you can belong before you believe.
We believe our gatherings are not just about inspiration, but transformation. Each week, we open the Bible together and listen for a word from God that calls us to live faithfully in our everyday lives. We respond through prayer for one another, practicing generosity, and sharing in communion as a church family. Children are not an afterthought but a vital part of our community—kids are welcomed, valued, and nurtured as they learn about God, build friendships, and experience the love and dignity they deserve.

Find Fellowship
In a small city like Rocky Mount, it can still be easy to feel disconnected or alone—but it doesn’t have to be this way. True flourishing is found in shared life together. From the beginning, Jesus formed a people who would grow, rejoice, and be shaped through deep, life-giving relationships. The early church gives us this picture in Acts 2:42—a community devoted to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, shared meals, and prayer. At City of Shalom, this vision shapes how we live as God’s people in the heart of our city.
Fellowship Groups are small, relational communities where people grow and flourish as they follow Jesus together. Rooted in the practices of the New Testament church, these groups are marked by joy, generosity, and meaningful relationships. Gathering in homes and shared spaces throughout downtown and inner-city Rocky Mount, Fellowship Groups create room for belonging, spiritual growth, and shared rhythms of life. Here, faith is formed, friendships are deepened, and we learn to live as a people of peace, wholeness, and restoration—for one another and for our city.

Serve & Seek
Flourishing
When we read the Gospels—the stories of Jesus’ life—we see again and again that Jesus moves toward people on the margins. He draws near to the poor, the overlooked, the oppressed, the sick, and the forgotten. His love is not abstract; it takes on flesh in neighborhoods, homes, and lives that the world often ignores.
At City of Shalom Church, we believe following Jesus means embodying that same kind of love right here in downtown and inner-city Rocky Mount. Caring for our neighbors, especially those who are most vulnerable, is not an extra part of the Christian life—it’s at the heart of it.
That’s why we seek to be present, invested, and partnered in the work God is already doing in our city. We come alongside local ministries, community leaders, and neighbors to bring good news that is both proclaimed and practiced. As we love and serve “the least of these,” we trust that we are meeting Jesus himself (Matthew 25:40).
City of Shalom exists to see our city renewed by the peace, justice, and wholeness of God—and that begins with loving our neighbors the way Christ has loved us.
